And It goes like this...

Today we met with Dr. B
a long conversation was had and we left with smiles
on our faces and good feelings in our stomachs!
We went over ALL of our options
everything from basic timed intercourse to IVF
the cost, the procedure, the statistics, everything.
and after much thought and discussion we decided
to do..
IUI!!
We will also be switching to femara!
I have done my research on femara
and it sounds like the right drug for us at this time.
We are going to do the IUI in February!
so we have the whole month of January
to relax a little and prepare for another
roller coster of emotions!
I really feel like this is the best plan for us
and I am so excited to start!
below I am going to add some further info
about IUI so some of my family can
better understand the process :)

— abbreviation for
1.intrauterine insemination: a form of fertility treatment in which sperm
are injected directly into the uterus

Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a procedure for treating infertility.
The procedure for intrauterine insemination is straightforward;
it takes about 15 to 20 minutes and is usually done in a doctor's office of clinic.
Sperm that have been "washed" and concentrated are placed directly
in your uterus on the day after your ovary releases one or more
eggs to be fertilized. The hoped-for-outcome of intrauterine insemination is
for the sperm to swim into the fallopian tubes and fertilize a waiting egg,
resulting in a normal pregnancy. Depending on the reasons for infertility,
intrauterine insemination can be coordinated with your normal cycle or
done in conjunction with fertility medications.

  1. Sounds like a great decision for your next step. I really love femara compared to clomid.

  2. For the record, I'm a fan of femara. I wasn't quite the insane emotional wreck I was on Clomid. And the symptoms were basically nonexistent for me. Oh yeah. AND we had a successful pregnancy from it. Crossing my fingers and hoping like crazy that it works for you too! Wishing you an amazing 2013!

  6. Praying so hard for you! Obviously, I am not going through infertility but my sweet sister, who is my everything is and has been for 2 1/2 years. I do not talk about this on my blog because it is not my place, but she lost her first pregnancy while I was pregnant with Gage. Our boys (yes, we found out it was a boy as well) would have been 4 month a part.

ANYWAY, she just started femara as well. They are going to try this for a few months before trying an IUI. PRAYING, PRAYING, PRAYING, for both of you.... everynight;)
